1. Create a Dedicated Workspace
First thing’s first. Whenever we start working from home, we always believe that we can sit at any table, chair or even in bed and be productive. The reality is different.
It is one thing to be able to work from home and another thing to be productive from home and if you are a person used to a structured environment it is worse.
One of the most important things you can do when working from home is to create a dedicated workspace. It can be a spare room, a corner of your bedroom, or even a space in your living room, but it has to be a designated area where you can focus on work and minimize distractions.
It is also important that you invest in the appropriate furniture to turn this place into your permanent work area. Keep in mind that when we say invest you don’t necessarily have to spend money. You can use furniture that you already have in the house but from now on its main use will be your work. You should not be arming and disarming your work area daily.
Tip: The right chair can change the appearance of the place completely and also create a much more comfortable place for your work.
2. Set Boundaries
It’s easy to blur the lines between work and personal life when we’re stuck in the house all day. It is important to establish limits, schedules, goals and not only that, but if we live in the company of someone it is important to transmit them to them.
Take breaks throughout the day to relax and avoid the exhaustion that comes from being cooped up at home all day, but do it in an organized way so you don’t miss work.

Sure, you can use online tools like Zoom or Meet for video conferencing, or any messaging software to keep in touch and collaborate with your team, but what you really need depends on your job.
If you work at home for a company, it’s important that they provide you with a separate line for all business matters, if not, look into services like MightyCall so you can have a different number for everything you need to do with work but on your own cell phone and without the need for a new SIM.
Note:
Don’t confuse staying connected with talking and chatting with friends or associates outside of your work environment. You have your breaks for that.4. Take Care of Your Health
Get enough exercise, don’t skip meals and take advantage of being at home to eat healthier meals. You can even use services like EatClean so you don’t have to make meals yourself and as we said before, don’t skip your breaks.
