Losing weight is always a challenge. It doesn’t matter the reason we want to do it: Being healthier, skinnier, to fit in those jeans or in the dress/suit, looking to have a fit body or just because we want to. Independently of the reason it can be easy scientifically speaking and a lot of people never understand this.

That’s why a lot of people failed in their quest or gain the weight back when they finished.

Let’s be clear here, it doesn’t  matter the program you follow and it doesn’t matter the amount of exercise you do, at the end, the only way to lose weight is to consume less calories than we use.

Never try to make this a daily goal, at least do it weekly or monthly. We need to have those cheat days and meals, and we need to have fun, and yes, we are going to see our daily calories needs to create our sustainable meal plan, but we will evaluate results on weekly basis.

So going back to the scientific reason, the way to lose weight is in a way to starve your body, at least a little bit so it began to consume energy from their reserves and that’s normally our fat deposits.

But how do we expect to starve our body and not suffer from it.

All diet promise something, they claim that the types of foods, the routine, the way of cooking it is the way to go and don’t misunderstand me, in a way and from a healthy point of view, they are absolutely right, but when talking about losing weight or mainly losing fat (You can lose weight and gain muscle, you will look better but weight more), the only way to achieve it is to consume less calories than we use.

Of course doing exercises helps, but it helps because it increase the amount of calories consume.

Then how we do it?

We find the option or method, and the deadline that is align with our personality. You can not endure and maintain a hard task if you are not motivated enough to do it. And if the meal plan is a burden we will fail most of the time.

The 5 minutes Forgiveness Method

Forgiveness is like a muscle:

The more you flex it, the stronger it gets. Get it strong enough and negative people and events just won’t affect you as much.

First Step: Remember

Start with the list of people or events to forgive. Each time you meditate focus on just one person or event. Keep in mind that the person could be you. You could be forgiving yourself for something you did in the past that still gnaws at you.

Second Step: Create a Scene

Bring up in your imagination the person or event. You will now repeat these three steps.

  • Step 1 is set the scene. Bring to mind the scene or image where you will do the forgiveness exercise. For example, when I was forgiving myself for a bad business decision that cost me a lot, I imagined seeing a younger version of myself facing me in my office.
  • Step 2 is feel the anger and pain. For no more than two minutes (it’s okay to estimate), allow yourself to feel the pain and anger. It’s even okay to yell or pound a pillow. Let the emotions out, but don’t spend too long on this.
  • Step 3 is forgive into love. Practice asking the questions What did I learn from this? How did this situation make my life better? Also remember the idea of “hurt people, hurt people.” Ask: What could have happened in the past to this person to cause them to hurt me so? As you start asking these questions, you learn to see the situations from another’s perspective.

Last Step: Repeat

Forgiveness may not come from one session, but no matter how grave the wrongdoing the forgiveness can come. It just takes practice. When forgiveness comes, it often is so thorough and complete it can be surprising. As Khaled Hosseini wrote in the The Kite Runner: “I wondered if that was how forgiveness budded; not with the fanfare of epiphany, but with pain gathering its things, packing up, and slipping away unannounced in the middle of the night.”

This meditation should have taken four to seven minutes max.
